Millions of Indians eat thalis every lunch and
dinnertime, it’s a traditional well-balanced
meal that has kept a country healthy and
nourished for centuries. The meal consists of
a protein dish, usually in the form of paneer (fried
Indian cheese), or fish; a lentil dish such as dhal or sambar; a vegetable dish and rice. The individual recipes will vary according to the region and season and the spices woven into the food are chosen for their nourishment as much as for taste.
