The Thali story so far...

We opened the Thali Cafe many moons ago, well 10 years ago to be exact! Inspired by our travels to India, with its vibrant and chaotic nature and of course delicious food we decided that we had to introduce the UK to real authentic Indian street food.

We originally tested out our menu in the muddy fields of summer music festivals like Glastonbury, the Big Chill and the brilliant Shambala Festival. The feedback was so good that a year later we were confident enough to take the plunge and open a permanent cafe in Bristol.

With over 20 years of combined catering experience between us, we quickly realised that that we had to do something radical if we were to avoid the same wasteful practices that occur in the food industry. During our time working for other businesses, nothing was ever recycled and buying fair trade products and seasonal eating was unheard of.

We wanted to set up a business that could thrive without harming the environment,
bringing delicious and healthy food to its

customers educating them about real Indian food. Bring forth the Thali.
