Anyone for Tiffin?

If you live in Bristol you may have noticed numerous people walking around with a strange stainless steel object in their hands.... No they are not a new breed of dog they are our very own exclusive eco takeaway scheme and well over 3000 penny pinching Bristolians have already joined up.

Tiffin's are filled with hot, fresh food from our kitchens and cost a ridiculous £7 for a vegetarian meal and £7.50 for a sustainable fish meal. They are made up of four compartments each containing a delicious dish. They are great to share with your nearest and dearest and most people seem to think that one Tiffin feeds two. Bargain of the century!

Made from insulated stainless steel our Tiffin boxes are an elegant, practical and robust answer to the growing waste problem, which is fuelled by our throwaway culture. The word 'tiffin' is taken from the Victorian term for any container for food, but the concept of "Tiffin box delivery' was originally developed in India, where 'dabbawallahs (the Indian term for tiffin delivery man) have for over a century, delivered a home cooked lunch from the kitchens of wives and mothers direct to city workers. In Mumbai alone they deliver over 300 000 per day!
